This is the story ʜᴇᴀʀᴛʙʀᴇᴀᴋɪɴɢ of  a tiny little Chihuahua puppy, called Daffodil, who was ᴀʙᴀɴᴅᴏɴᴇᴅ on a bustling street in San Francisco and found at the bottom of a soggy cardboard box. This gorgeous pup wasn’t like all the others, she was sadly born with ɴᴏ ғʀᴏɴᴛ ᴘᴀᴡs. And despite numerous people walking past her and seeing her ᴅᴇsᴘᴇʀᴀᴛᴇ face, no one stopped to help her. In fact, Daffodil’s ʀᴇsᴄᴜᴇʀ caught one person ᴘɪᴄᴋthe puppy up out of the box and after seeing her ᴅᴇғᴏʀᴍɪᴛʏ, they put her back in it.…

Thankfully, when a young man discovered Daffodil’s plight, he immediately sᴄᴏᴏᴘᴇᴅ her up and took her to the local ⓈⓅⒸⒶ. Initially, the workers were skeptical about the puppy’s sᴜʀᴠɪᴠᴀʟ. But within days of receiving love and care, Daffodil blossomed into a very affectionate and frisky puppy! The sweet girl had no idea she was ᴅɪsᴀʙʟᴇᴅ, and simply wanted to be adored by her caretakers!  The workers were touched by Daffodil’s spirited demeanor and they resolved to see past her ᴅᴇғᴏʀᴍɪᴛɪᴇs and give her a fair ᴄʜᴀɴᴄᴇ ᴀᴛ ʟɪғᴇ. They even used a special cast to get the puppy’s measurements for her own ᴄᴜsᴛᴏᴍ-ғɪᴛᴛᴇᴅ ᴡʜᴇᴇʟᴄʜᴀɪʀ!

Daffodil’s memorable first ride in her wee little wheelchair. She sᴛᴜᴍʙʟᴇs ᴀɴᴅ ғᴀʟʟs, but there’s no looking back one she picks herself up again. What a champ! The ⓈⓅⒸⒶ has also updated that Olivia, one of Daffodil’s caretakers, has come forward to be the spunky girl’s forever mom! Daffodil is loving her days as mommy’s little princess! Day by day, Daffodil got more and more used to her new wheelchair and she’s now even running about on it! A case manager at ᴠᴇᴛᴇʀɪɴᴀʀʏ ᴘʀᴏsᴛʜᴇᴛɪᴄ provider OrthoPets, Olivia Kong. She said:” She initially favored turning only to the right, so we did a lot of ʀᴇʜᴀʙ  and training encouraging her to go both right and left. She’s now progressed to the point — after many hours of working together — that she can now go over obstacles, and she’s very independent in them rather than just doing what I’m asking her to do as part of a training exercise.”

Daffodil’s old friends in San Francisco have watched her progress through Facebook and Instagram accounts — and so have many other fans of the growing girl. Now 11 months old, Daffodil is on her fourth set of wheels, all of which have seen countless adjustments and modifications thanks to Kong and her colleagues at OrthoPets. And to top it all off, she’s now found an amazing adoptive family and is more loved than ever. In fact, her forever mom is one of the volunteers at the ⓈⓅⒸⒶ who just completely fell for Daffodil when she saw her. She’s now living life to the fullest in Colorado. We hope Daffodil is as happy and loved as she deserves to be for many more years to come!
